Kyra Minturn

 Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19 1965. She is an American producer and actress. Her most well-known character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The seventh season of the show ended on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick's role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other roles in films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and says she goes to Passover seders.
